Web Authors Who Inpire Me

,

I find that one of the most effective ways to develop a creative talent is to experience the creativity of others expressing the talent you wish to develop. As a developing writer, I spend quite a bit of time reading materials written by other writers. In fact, I spend significantly more time reading than writing.

In today’s post, I would like to share some of the other authors on the web who I find inspiring and provide links to articles I find particularly inspiring. Depending on how well this goes, I may make this a Sunday feature, highlighting articles from the past week.

  • Leo Babauta of Zen Habits. Leo’s topics include productivity, organization, family, finances, simplicity, happiness and health. Leo describes himself as a “regular guy” with six children who has made a lot of positive changes in his life. See his story. His posts are straight forward and practical. He offers simple, easy to understand instructions on how to make positive changes in your life. The posts on Zen Habits are usually followed by an active discussion that often offers a great deal of additional insight in to the topics he covers. This week’s inspiring post: Peaceful Simplicity: How to Live a Life of Contentment provides a list of 17 simple ideas on how to simplify your life and find contentment.
  • Steve Pavlina of StevePavlina.com turned his life around through the recognition of personal responsibility. His unique and varied experiences, profound intelligence, and fearless willingness to take risks to discover ways to optimize his life resonate throughout his articles, podcasts and blogs. This week’s inspiring post: A Better Life, takes a look at the seemingly contradictory idea of living in the moment while intending positive changes for the future. He breaks the idea down in mathematical terms which improved my understanding of the concept to a level I had not been able to accomplish in the past. It is not uncommon that reading an article or post of Steve Pavlina’s changes my perspective so profoundly that the direction of my life changes with it.

I hope you enjoy these authors and their posts as much as I have.
